Board of Directors

Board Member Bios:

Howard Gonser

 Represents PUD Subdivision #4. Elected to the Northern Wasco PUD board in 1987. Prior to retirement as an educator, he worked at School District #9 in The Dalles as a drug counselor, teacher and coach. 
 

Barbara Nagle

 Represents PUD Subdivision #1 as a board member since 1983. A retired journalist, she worked as an editor for 25 years at The Dalles Chronicle. She owned and operated Elf Help/Cascade Business Services, a temporary employment and office support service for 10 years. She is currently retired. 
 

Dan Williams

 NWCPUD has sworn in its newest board member, Dan Williams. Dan represents Subdivision 2, a position that was vacated when Bill Ward moved from the area. A graduate of The Dalles High School, Dan has lived in the city for 56 years. He has a long history of helping to make The Dalles a better place to live. Dan has served on boards of various civic and nonprofit organizations, including Columbia Gorge Community College, the Columbia Gorge Community College Foundation, the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, and The Dalles Civic Auditorium. He also was a member of The Dalles City Budget Committee for 13 years. Prior to opening his own CPA firm in 1979, Dan worked as the controller/assistant manager for The Dalles Cherry Growers. In 1997, Arlene Way became his parter and they operated as Williams & Way until 2004. In addition to serving on the NWCPUD board of directors, Dan is currently a member of Wasco County Search & Rescue.

Milt Skov

 Represents PUD Subdivision #5. He served on the board representing Subdivision #3 from 1982- 1989, when a move from that subdivision necessitated resignation from the board. Re-elected to board again in 1995, representing Subdivision #5. Mr. Skov is a retired veterinarian and past mayor of The Dalles. 
 

Clay Smith

 Represents PUD Subdivision #3. Has been a board member since 2003. Graduated from The Dalles High School in 1965. Was a partner in Gorge Wind Electric in Mosier, Oregon and now works at the local Dodge dealership in The Dalles.
