Heat Pump Rebate Program

 

This program is available to all Northern Wasco County PUD residential Customers with permanently installed electric heat, for as long as funding is available.

Eligibility: To be eligible for a rebate, the following conditions must be met:

  1. Equipment must be installed after Dec. 2011;
  2. Have permanently installed electric heat.
  3. Must be up to code in the major insulation areas – attic, walls, floor, and the ductwork must be air tight and insulated with R11.
  4. Installed in a building served by the PUD.
  5. Submit the attached Heat Pump Rebate Form.
  6. Comply with PUD specifications for heat pump installations.
  7. Installed by an approved heating contractor. (see list )
  8. A PUD representative must inspect the equipment and installation.
  9. Customer must provide copies of Electrical Permits, Mechanical Permits and a copy of the itemized bills with model numbers and brand of equipment installed.

 

Air to Air Heat Pumps:

PUD will rebate to our customers $2,219 when they install a new heat pump system and electric furnace in their home. The system must be the primary heating and cooling source for the building. Homes with existing gas or oil furnaces that are replaced with an electric furnace and heat pump system will qualify for a rebate of $1,148. The rebate is not intended to cover repairs for existing heat pumps. The PUD will rebate to our customers $2,219 when an existing heat pump is replaced completely with a new all electric heat pump system. No rebate on systems still under warranty.

Only one rebate per house in a ten-year period.

Ductless Heat Pumps: PUD will rebate customers up to $2,670 when they install a Ductless system that supplements their electric wall heaters. Rebate will not exceed 80% of customers costs.  

Ground Source Heat Pumps: PUD will rebate to our customers $4,955 when they install a new  all electric geo-thermal heat pump system in their home. The system must be the primary heating and cooling source for the building, No rebate to replace an old ground source for the building.                                                        

                                                                                                                                                                      

 

The PUD does not make any express or implied warranty of the heating equipment, or the electrical connection or the compliance of any of the work with state or local electrical or building codes or as to the quality of work of the suppliers and/or contractors. These rebates are only available as long as funding is available and may be withdrawn without notice.
