The prospect of the approaching holiday season doesn’t always bring joy to every heart. For some in our community, winter brings with it the fear of higher heating bills which will strain an already over-stretched budget.

The PUD’s “Neighbor to Neighbor” program is a way for those who can afford to share to help those who really could use a helping hand. 100% of the funds collected stays right here in our community, verification of eligibility is determined by the Mid-Columbia Community Action Program.

What is Neighbor to Neighbor exactly? Neighbor to Neighbor is a way to give some financial relief to PUD customers who may be temporarily unable to pay their electric bill and who do not qualify for other financial assistance programs. Eligible households who do not qualify for other state or federal assistance may receive up to $125 in a 12-month period. Eligibility is established according to federally defined poverty levels.

How can I contribute? Either by signing up to have a small monthly contribution, $1, $2, $5 automatically added to your bill each month, OR if you prefer for tax purposes, make your contribution on a separate check, made payable to “Neighbor to Neighbor. All contributions are tax deductible.
